VirtualCHC Objectives:

  • Provide our customers with a selection of vetted software applications to meet their specific clinical and operational needs, including practice management & EHR; clinical registry general ledger; office productivity support; custom analysis and reporting software applications.
  • Provide convenient, reliable, high-speed secure on-line availability of our customers’ software applications.
  • Simplify the challenge of obtaining, maintaining and operating Health Information Technology (HIT) through on-line availability of a set of software applications that meet or exceed customers’ clinical and operational requirements and expectations; requiring of the customer only on-site input and output devices (computers, printers); a local area network (LAN); a router & firewall; access to high-speed internet, and limited local IT services for maintenance of on-site devices and LAN.
  • Empower CHC's to manage their business more effectively by providing them with software that improves data integrity by reducing redundancy; controls data flow throughout their entire organization; provides management information, statistics and reports that they require.
  • Enable Electronic Claim Submission (ECS) directly to clearinghouses, Qualified Health Plans (QHPs), insurance companies and other payers, so that claim can managed and ‘scrubbed’ and reimbursements can be obtained more quickly, improving revenue flow and reducing accounts receivable.
  • Facilitate Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) between clinical devices, lab, pharmacy organizations, hospitals and other cooperating entities, so that clinical information could be imported directly into Practice Management Systems & Electronic Health Records vs. paper & manual entry.
  • Facilitate CHCs and networks in their development of "central" data repositories to collect, analyze and report data from multiple entities.
  • Assist in the development of data warehouses and analytical capabilities to provide practices, CHCs, networks and agencies with accurate, up-to-the-minute statistics and benchmarks
  • Coordinate Group Purchasing arrangements to lower the costs for various products, supplies and services by taking advantage of the economies of scale.
  • Provide other internet based solutions such as Tele-Health & on-line Patient Education.
  • Facilitate access to training and support for the software.
  • Work with other primary care associations (PCAs) and organizations to make more capable and robust HIT conveniently available anywhere there is need for it in support of quality care.

The business model is one of "usage" as opposed to "ownership" which lowers the upfront risk and investments because users are not required to develop, maintain and upgrade their software.
