For clients to be able to connect to VirtualCHC's Terminal Servers the Remote Desktop Client (RDC) needs to be installed on the client machine. Once installed a connection profile should be created and saved to the desktop.

Remote Desktop Connection

The Remote Desktop Client allows you to access VirtualCHC from any computer that has access to the Internet***. Note that version 5.1 of the Remote Desktop Connection is already installed by default on any computer running Windows XP and can be found on the Start Menu under Programs | Accessories | Communications. While 5.1 will work for basic connectivity more advanced features such as printer and drive mapping may not work correctly. To begin the installation process click the link below and then select either 'Open' or 'Run from Current Location' in the dialog box that appears.

Download Remote Desktop Connection v5.2

When you are greeted by the welcome screen, click next:

On the Customer Information screen enter your username and organization, select the radio button next to 'Anyone who uses this computer,' then hit Next.

On the Ready to Install screen, click Install

Once the installation process has completed, hit Finish.

You should then see this screen:

Click the Options button, which will open more of the Window. Click the Display tab and verify the slider bar is all the way to the right, which is the full screen mode.

Click back to the General tab. Enter cluster2.virtualchc.net *** into the Computer field. Enter your username into the User name field and make sure GREATLAKES is in the Domain field.
